Scottish businesses and industries have a key role to play in addressing the challenges that we face as a result of the impacts of climate change.

The impacts of climate change, ranging from new pests and diseases affecting agriculture and forestry to severe weather events and flooding damaging premises and disrupting supply chains, pose significant challenges for business and industry.

The private sector is also uniquely placed to develop the products and services that are needed as part of domestic, European and International action to increase resilience and adapt to the impacts of climate change. The private sector will also be influenced by changing demands from public sector clients who are increasingly expected to ensure that climate risks are managed and reduced as part of investment in development, regeneration, infrastructure and assets.
